Assistance tailored to your daily routines.
Promoting self-reliance and confidence in shared living arrangements.
Encouraging social interactions and a sense of belonging.
Supported Independent Living (SIL) is for NDIS participants who need help with daily tasks throughout the day, often including overnight, and who want to live as independently as possible. SIL is often provided in shared homes, but it can also be provided to people living on their own.
We involve you in choosing your support team and respect your right to make choices about your own life, from what’s for dinner to how you spend your weekend.
SIL is funded from Core Supports – Assistance with Daily Life. The NDIA uses a roster of care and your support needs to set your SIL funding. Rent, food and bills are paid from your own income, not your NDIS plan. If your home is Specialist Disability Accommodation, that is funded separately under Capital Supports.
We provide SIL in Melbourne’s northern suburbs.
Do I need SIL in my NDIS plan first?
Usually, yes. If it isn’t in your plan yet, we can help you and your support coordinator prepare for a plan change.
Can I choose my housemates?
We involve you and your family in housemate decisions.
Can I visit before deciding?
Yes. Talk to us about arranging a visit.
