Building your skills and confidence to help you achieve greater independence and participate fully in life.
This support is for NDIS participants who want to work, whether that’s a first job, returning to work after a break, or keeping a job that’s become harder to manage. We also support school leavers taking their first steps into employment.
We start with what you want from work, not with a list of available jobs. Your support worker gets to know you, then helps you build the skills and confidence to take each step. As you become more independent, we step back, but we’re still there if something changes at work.
Employment support is usually funded from the Capacity Building – Finding and Keeping a Job budget. Some participants also use Core Supports for support at work. If employment is one of your goals, raise it at your next plan review so the right funding is included.
We support participants across Melbourne’s northern suburbs, at home, at work or in the community.
Do I need work experience to get started?
No. We support people at every stage, including those looking for their first job.
Will you contact my employer?
Only if you want us to. You decide what your employer is told about your disability.
What’s the difference between this and supported employment?
This service helps you find and keep a job in the open workforce. Specialised Supported Employment is for people who need more intensive support at work.
